Purpose:
The purpose of this e-learning module is to transfer the required knowledge that will provide the learner with a thorough understanding of the Regulations set out in Title 4, covering Health Protection, Medical Care, Welfare and Social Security Protection.
 
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:
State the standard of medical care to be made available to seafarers both onboard and ashore.
Explain the requirements for the provision of medical services and care onboard.
State the shipowner’s liability with respect to the financial consequences of sickness, injury or death occurring while a seafarer is serving under an employment agreement. 
Describe the guidelines for managing Occupational Health & Safety aboard ship.
Describe the social security protection and benefits to be provided to seafarers.
Describe the minimum requirements for shore based welfare facilities to be provided to seafarers.
